'08 LeftOvers

In the winter/spring of 2008 I was still in college, and when I could find free time, I would go skate and film with my friends. I was living in a skate house that was going to be torn down as well, so if it was raining we would just skate inside. Also, since practically everyone living there was a skateboarder, I was always surrounded by skating and I would edit what we filmed into montages that were posted on youtube and on this blog. However, even after putting together these montages I still had un-used footage and wanted to have some fun with it.

At the time I was staying with this older friend of mine who is a musical genius, and he helped me out with the audio. As a result, this movie by far has my favourite music out of any video I've put together, and I had some fun editing the visuals as well. Since it was a 'Leftover' video, I got a little more creative visually...

Minty Manuvers

Back in 2006, before I moved to Vancouver, shortly after the St.Catharines Skatepark was opened, I made a video. The video is made up of footage from the summer of 2006 and it was all shot in Ontario. I edited the video in Vancouver, and then sent copies home to my friends. It was probably one of the best summers I've had, although its tough to say because my summers have always been awesome, thanks to skateboarding!

Who knew that a piece of wood with wheels could bring such joy?

VOX Camping Trip '08

It was a week long adventure full of BBQs at skateparks, hanging out with the locals, awesome parks, nice weather, amazing scenery, wizard staffs, rocky mountains, hot springs, and of course, camping. Oh, and there was some skateboarding too.

The crew consisted of Lee Superka, Myself, Dave Kerr, & Phil George (aka – Full Throttle/Team Captain). We drove from Vancouver, across the interior of BC, through the rocky mountains, right up until the Alberta boarder, then we circled back around through the Okanogan, & Oysoyoos...

Speical thanks to Phil George for making this happen & Lee Superka for coming out and taking photos. Also, Thanks to all the shops & locals along the way that showed us support, and more importantly, showed us a good time.

My Korea Adventure

Back in October of 2008, I went on vacation with my parents to South Korea to visit my older brother. He lives there now and teaches English to young Koreans. After spending two weeks travelling all over the country with my family, it was time for my parents to head back to Canada, and time for me to get my skate on... I stayed for another two weeks with my brother, and during this time, I was lucky enough to meet this really cool Korean Skater named Maska.

Maska showed me all the spots in town and he even showed me spots in other towns! It was an amazing experience, especially because all the spots were unbelievable! the ground was almost always super smooth, there were fresh, untouched marble ledges everywhere, and to top it off, nobody hates on skateboarding like over here in North America. Business men & taxi drivers would stop and watch, and were even asking to try my board out, telling me about how they like rollerblading, it was hilarious. I only got kicked out of two or three street spots, and there were some skateparks there too. It really was a dream world for any skater.

here are some photos and a video of my trip. Enjoy!

Theres Too Much Lean In My Cup

In 2006, I moved to Vancouver to attend College. During my two years at school, I would skateboard with my friends, and we would flim each other, it was a fun and productive thing to do, and in the end, we had enough footage to make a whole video. It was shot from September 2006 to November 2007 and it was shot on a couple different cameras by a couple different people, but if I am not in the clip, chances are I was behind the camera.

We never really had a Vancouver premiere for the video, and most of it was shot in Vancouver, but its a little late now, so I decided to post it up on the blog here for the people in the video to show their friends and family, and for everybody to check out!

Too Much Lean In My Cup - Web Premier

So tomorrow I will be posting "There's Too Much Lean In My CuP". Which was a skate video that was shot in 2006 and 2007. It had a premiere in Ontario last christmas, but lots of people still have yet to see it.

Rather than burning a bunch of DVDs and wasting plastic/money in this "economical & environmental tough time", I figured it would be better to just post it online.
