RED CAM SHOOT

So Back in September, I had the opportunity to film a short skate video with a RED Camera, Thanks Blooming Productions! We spent a rainy afternoon skating a box in a warehouse full of film gear, we had access to lights, a dolly, as well as a fog machine. Finding a dry spot on a rainy day to skate usually means a good time, and a smooth warehouse with a nice box is guaranteed fun.

BEHIND THE SCENES

B Dubs on a roll.

Lots of sun and time off lately, so I have been out and about, letting the computer collect dust, Lots of footage is piling up, and the clip-of-the-week site will be back up soon with weekly updates!

but in the meantime....

My buddy B dubs was telling me about this back alley pole jam he's got in mind.
I was excited to see what exactly the spot was and maybe film something on it.
As it turns out, it was a fence pole that had 'fallen down' and in the end, it proved to not be the sturdiest setup. Check it out....

B Dubs is killing it

Lately I haven't been skating that much, but it sure looks like B Dubs has been... Check this out!

Taking a Break From Skateboarding for a Moment...

Here's a project I worked on two weekends ago. Although it didn't turn out as outrageously funny as we thought it would be, we were all laughing hard the whole time while making it, and that was all that mattered in the end... Although the $15,000 first place prize would have been nice too...

4/20/2009

Two years in a row, the weather has been extremely nice on 4/20...

Spring is here, Go Skate & Enjoy the Sun!

Perseverance

You know when you have one of those days where everything just seems to fall into place. This was one of those days. The Bob Marley was jamming, the sun was shining, the skate spot was amazing, and everyone was feeling it.

Nic was feeling it so much that he set a new personal best for switch flips.
The final count after official review is 75.

Spring Has Sprung!

Here's little montage that was filmed on two separate visits to North Van. All these spots are real close to each other, and are super fun! Anyways, the nice weather is here, and Summer is just around the corner, so get out there and go for a cruise!

A Cooptarded, Old, Dirty Bird

MORE ARTWORK HERE

Jeff Coopman lives in St.Catharines. He is a skateboarder, an artist, a family man, and now he has also made a movie. After a long debate over what he was going to call it, 'Cooptards' & 'Old Crowe' are both not the title...
...It was shot in Ontario, as well as Vancouver.

Here is the teaser...

Don't sleep on Coop, he's on the come up!

'Bragler'

(not because he's a bragger...he's actually one of the humblest dudes around).

His name is Brad Agler and I've known him since I stepped on a board...Almost nine years ago! Glad to see he is killing it these days...switch skillz to pay da bills! Keep it up!

Don't Sleep on St.Catharines...

The Homies.

I saw this on Facebook and was stoked to see that the homies are still holding down the Fort, and it looks like they've been skating lots! Keep it up guys!

The ArNiCa Archives.

Some people have been asking me to post older videos from a couple years ago, and rather than posting them on Arnica Productions, which is more up-to-date, I decided to start another blog, where I will be posting the classics... Videos that were made before 2006.

'08 LeftOvers

In the winter/spring of 2008 I was still in college, and when I could find free time, I would go skate and film with my friends. I was living in a skate house that was going to be torn down as well, so if it was raining we would just skate inside. Also, since practically everyone living there was a skateboarder, I was always surrounded by skating and I would edit what we filmed into montages that were posted on youtube and on this blog. However, even after putting together these montages I still had un-used footage and wanted to have some fun with it.

At the time I was staying with this older friend of mine who is a musical genius, and he helped me out with the audio. As a result, this movie by far has my favourite music out of any video I've put together, and I had some fun editing the visuals as well. Since it was a 'Leftover' video, I got a little more creative visually...

...Be patient, it may take a little bit to load...

Minty Manuvers

Back in 2006, before I moved to Vancouver, shortly after the St.Catharines Skatepark was opened, I made a video. The video is made up of footage from the summer of 2006 and it was all shot in Ontario. I edited the video in Vancouver, and then sent copies home to my friends. It was probably one of the best summers I've had, although its tough to say because my summers have always been awesome, thanks to skateboarding!

Who knew that a piece of wood with wheels could bring such joy?

VOX Camping Trip '08

It was a week long adventure full of BBQs at skateparks, hanging out with the locals, awesome parks, nice weather, amazing scenery, wizard staffs, rocky mountains, hot springs, and of course, camping. Oh, and there was some skateboarding too.

The crew consisted of Lee Superka, Myself, Dave Kerr, & Phil George (aka – Full Throttle/Team Captain). We drove from Vancouver, across the interior of BC, through the rocky mountains, right up until the Alberta boarder, then we circled back around through the Okanogan, & Oysoyoos...

Speical thanks to Phil George for making this happen & Lee Superka for coming out and taking photos. Also, Thanks to all the shops & locals along the way that showed us support, and more importantly, showed us a good time.

CHECK IT OUT IN HIGH QUALITY!

My Korea Adventure

Back in October of 2008, I went on vacation with my parents to South Korea to visit my older brother. He lives there now and teaches English to young Koreans. After spending two weeks travelling all over the country with my family, it was time for my parents to head back to Canada, and time for me to get my skate on... I stayed for another two weeks with my brother, and during this time, I was lucky enough to meet this really cool Korean Skater named Maska.

Maska showed me all the spots in town and he even showed me spots in other towns! It was an amazing experience, especially because all the spots were unbelievable! the ground was almost always super smooth, there were fresh, untouched marble ledges everywhere, and to top it off, nobody hates on skateboarding like over here in North America. Business men & taxi drivers would stop and watch, and were even asking to try my board out, telling me about how they like rollerblading, it was hilarious. I only got kicked out of two or three street spots, and there were some skateparks there too. It really was a dream world for any skater.

here are some photos and a video of my trip. Enjoy!

Theres Too Much Lean In My Cup

In 2006, I moved to Vancouver to attend College. During my two years at school, I would skateboard with my friends, and we would flim each other, it was a fun and productive thing to do, and in the end, we had enough footage to make a whole video. It was shot from September 2006 to November 2007 and it was shot on a couple different cameras by a couple different people, but if I am not in the clip, chances are I was behind the camera.

We never really had a Vancouver premiere for the video, and most of it was shot in Vancouver, but its a little late now, so I decided to post it up on the blog here for the people in the video to show their friends and family, and for everybody to check out!

Too Much Lean In My Cup - Web Premier

So tomorrow I will be posting "There's Too Much Lean In My CuP". Which was a skate video that was shot in 2006 and 2007. It had a premiere in Ontario last christmas, but lots of people still have yet to see it.

Rather than burning a bunch of DVDs and wasting plastic/money in this "economical & environmental tough time", I figured it would be better to just post it online.

Check Back!

Finish Strong Promo 2

Alot of 2008 was spent filming for the upcoming Finish Strong Video with the new HD camera. However, when we sat down and went through the footage, we realized that we had alot of footage, and we could probably get rid of some to make way for new stuff.

Anyways, here is our throw-away HD footage from 2008.

The montage features: Coopman, Gravy, B Dubs, Dave, Louis, Scap, Watson.

Enjoy!

Hibernation Leftovers

Here is over ten minutes of leftover footage from this past January when I was visiting home. The footage is all extra footage from SUD Skates indoor park, and X-Wheels indoor park.

Its all leftover footage that didn't get used from 'Hibernation'. Hibernation is a short video I just made that shows what skateboarding is like in the dead of winter in southern Ontario/nothern Buffalo and features all local skaters from St.Catharines.

If you like the leftover footage and are interested in checking out more, swing by SUD skates and grab a copy of Hibernation!!!

Roll Forever.

Hibernation - Out Now.

Copies of 'Hibernation' are available now at Sud Skates!!!

Go and grab yourself a copy now! While your there, you might want to skate the newly renovated park in the back. Its tons of fun, Yo!

Check back soon for leftover hibernation footage.

"Hibernation" - New Video Coming Soon!

So I spent the last month in Ontario, and during that time I was lucky enough to be able to shoot enough footage to make a video... Its all indoor park footage, but its turning out to be something that I am really stoked on, and I hope you will be too.

Its all HD footage, and I will post it on the net within the next month.

Until then, don't let the winter get to you!

sk8 or die.
