Game of Skate

So the game of sk8 was pretty off the chain!!! I made to the second round, but that was it. I did win a free beer from this though and it made my night. Also, The Grilled Cheese was amazing and fueled my skating needs, I ended up skating until 12:30 at nite and at the end I was f--king pooched and ended up passing out on the bus ride home...

....I Miss All The Homies!!!

Home is where the heart is...

Manual Manuvers

So there is a new park I found out about recently, located in a warehouse not too far from Downtown. It's called The Sweatshop, and for a good reason. I went there for a best trick contest on Sunday and it got so hot in there I sweat through 3 shirts!!! Anyways there is a game of skate there on Thursday and with flyers being handed out all around the city, its bound to be a great time.

More to come on that, but for Now, Enjoy this clip of some manuals at LBC!

Mike Carr Photos

For those of your who aren't privelaged enough to know this guy...you don't know what you're missing. Not only is Mike Carr more motivated to skate than almost anyone I know, he's been skating the longest out of everyone I know and still rips the hardest! Another thing you need to know about Carr is the fact although he skates everyday, you will rarely get the chance to skate with him...This is because Carr is on the verge of being Nocturnal. While most people are wrapping up skating at the latest hour of 12 or maybe even 1, Carr is out there getting warmed up for his session that sometimes can go until dawn! Not only did he help progress the St.Catharines skate scene forward, Carr also has made a name for himself. At a recent flip demo in Markham, when Appleyard was asked if he remebered skating Sud at all, his response was, 'Yeah, Does Mike Carr still rip?'

These pictures were taken on one lap around downtown with Carr and they really show just how unique his skating is, and the fact that he never uses wax!

Montebello Photos (click here)

So...One night during my St.Catharines Visit, Lee Superka (the one on the right with the drunkened smile) and I went to Montebello on a mission. I had been there earlier in the day and applied the bondo. It was a real life saver and helped me out alot, I recommend it for all your crack needs...you know what I mean...

Lee Superka

One more thing...

Here's a sequence that Lee Superka shot a little while ago.

Night at the Library.

As promised, Here is the mini montage of Bergsma skating the Library. Since it was my last night, I convinced John to skate even though it was beginning to rain. However, once he got skating, it looked liked he was going to keep skating until the wee hours of the morning.

If not for the rain, or my 8 am flight the next day, Bergsma probably would have skated long into the night with a Mike Carr Cameo happening along the way.

I guess it's a good thing then that me and Carr shot photos a couple night before this then...hint...hint....Mike Carr Photos coming soon!!!

Enjoy!

First Week Back

During my first week back in Vancouver, I worked on a short movie for a film festival. Here are some pictures of me on set, I worked as an assistant D.O.P.

X-Wheels Montage

So Like I was saying earlier on...

X-wheels is a very fun place to go and manuever your stuntwood. I went there shooting once with just me and Lake, and then again with Bergsma and Agler joining us. On Saturday nights they have these shitty concerts there, when we went the second time with the camera it was Ska night ( Just in case you are wondering what all the background noise was from). Overall the editing in this montage didn't turn out as good as I was hoping for, but trick wise I am drowning in a Lake.

X-Wheels.

-So during my time at home, i tried to do as much skating with the homies as possible. This meant that sessions were going down rain or shine. A good place to take care of all your skatepark riding needs is Xtreme-Wheels in Buffalo, USA. Just over the boarder lies an old factory wtih a skater's paradise inside...all wood floors...very nice...

Anyways, here are some pictures from my first adventure at X-wheels.

Soon to come: X-wheels mini montage!

A Day at Sud...

While I was down visiting one day I decided to duct tape my fisheye lense onto my mom's digital camera and take some skate pics. Unfortunately the lense was so big it was getting in the way of the flash!!! It was a good thing Hammer was working, because he had a slave with him and it helped these pictures turn out not too shabby.
