When I went home for Christmas this year I filmed with Agler quite a bit, and I have been meaning to put all the footy together into a little part, but I have been busy with other things.
Today I finally edited it all together and it was well worth the wait.
So I started my own arnica productions profile on blip.tv today, I am going to be posting videos on there as regular as possible, the ones that are on there now are all recent and you check it out if you have some spare time.
Roll Forever, Mike Day! While I was down visiting in December, we had a Remember Mike Day Ramp Jam at SUD, in memory of our Fallen Friend. Hammer let us skate all night and we shredding extra hard for Day. It was great to see all the old crew together, it made it seem like the good ol' days. Except without Day there, it just didn't feel right. Usually Day would be ready to snake you before you even realized it was happening, and then he'd do one steezed out back disaster and you would forget he ever snaked ya. Steez for days,
The 'too much lean in my cup' video premiere/sud christmas party went awesome and everyone that came out had a good time, it was really good to see everybody again. If you haven't been by SUD lately, you wouldn't know that the sign on top of SUD now reads "Surf Spot". This is because SUD used to be "Sud Skates Surf Spot" Its a tongue twister for sure, but the good news is that Hammer assures me a new sign is in the works.
Here is a picture of sud in its prime.
_Also, I went up to The Rail skatepark on Saturday for their best trick contest. There were lots of amazing people there killing it to the max, trying to make some cash. With 1000 dollar prizes for some obstacles and 500 dollar prizes for other ones, the money was flowing like it grew on trees. Laker killed it the whole time and was one o the last guys skating at the end of the 3.5 hour contest. He also walked away with 250 bucks cash after splitting first place with TJ Rogers on the quarter pipe best trick. WATCH THE FOOTAGE HERE.
Just got these bad boys out last week, I don't feel any stupider..... is stupider a word?
So I hope that everyone's christmas was just as enjoyable and delicious as mine. Jolly Old Saint Nick always comes through and the time spent with family and close friends is always great for the heart and soul.
Me and the cousins....
I've also been spending time with my fallen friend lately, and when I was going through old pictures, I found this one and it made me laugh so much I cried...
Anyone that chilled with Day knows that a slurpee and three bagels was what the kid considered a 'good meal'. It always blew my mind how Day could eat such little food and still skate as good as he did...
Come Out and Check Out whats new in the video world, and whats new at Sud.
= Speking of SUD, The street course is alot more fun now that the flybox is gone. Instead you can enjoy bigger space to skate flatground, or try some manuvers on the 12 foot flat box that is dope as shit!
So B Dubs and I were trying to get this line the other day for "There's Too Much Lean in My Cup", when the rain started and B Dubs took a tumble.... He should be back on the board soon, but in the meantime he's sifting for gold...
So heres the footage that I got from Go Skateboarding Day in Vancouver, its kind of bad quality, and I missed some tricks, but its still sick none- the- less. Also, I am going to try and put some other new footage up soon that Bergsma and I got...
Here are some pictures from Go Skateboarding Day in Vancouver. I will have some video footage soon, where you can really see just how many people were there, it was crazy! Also, there's more soime footage of tricks that aren't seen in these pictures.
Today I went downtown for the annual Go Skateboarding Day - Emerica Wild In the Streets Festivities. The LRG team was there chillin and he sun was out and shining. Coopman and I went and skated the shit out Leeside too. I will put up the Footage soon enough of us cruising through the streets, but for now, heres a clip from the North Burnaby Park the other day.
So it's been a long time since an update and I was going through some old footy the other day trying to make some free space for the next video project... Theres Too Much Lean in My Cup. During this time, I found this st.kitts park montage. I don't know how many people have seen it before so I thought I'd share it with you all.
So Now that Bergsma is living out here with me, he has set up his own blogspot so that he can keep in touch with peeps back home...you should check it out....www.johnnybergsma.blogspot.com
